Mirage Country Club Port Douglas is also a golfer's paradise. Rated as one of the world's best resort courses, the 18 hole international standard championship golf course was designed by renowned golf architect Peter Thomson, and contains the usual combination of 6 par 3, 6 par 4 and 6 par 5 holes all within two quite different 9's with the bordering Coral Sea and the panoramic mountain backdrop providing the only distractions to a memorable round.
Mossman Golf Club
Mossman Golf Club is an 18 hole golf couse located in Far North Queensland, just a scenic hour's drive north of Cairns on the edge of the stunning Daintree Forest. Known for its friendly atmosphere, Mossman Golf Club offers a 5815 metre, par 72, 18 hole course suited to both the serious and the casual golfer and is the perfect spot to enjoy the game while relaxing in the unique tropics.
The course presents a layout of two differing halves. The front 9 consists of mainly straight up and down open fairways lined by tall gums. In particular, the 1st and 4th have trees positioned on the fairway. So even a straight 200m drive can still leave you in trouble! The back however, is alot tighter and a few water hazards will keep you honest. The challenging 15th and 16th both are doglegs requiring an accurate iron off the tee. Water and sand are positioned tight to the 16th green so accuracy is a must on your approach. Overall, fairways are consitent, ’carpet like’ greens are a plessure to putt on and the constant sound of birds chirping makes for a really peaceful round.
